I now proclaim myself King of the Nerds. If you didn’t know, tickets for James Cameron’s AVATAR are already on sale in select cities. Why is this weird? The movie opens four months from now on Dec. 18th. Too soon? Maybe. But I bought tickets anyways. All I know is that there hasn’t been a more hyped movie since I’ve been alive and I’ll be damned if I–a true movie lover, will sit idly by while cinematic history is made. There is a chance that this movie blows asshole and I look like a complete dingleberry for buying tickets in August. However my argument is last summer, when Dark Knight came out, IMAX was sold out 3 weeks ahead. I had to wait 21 days to watch that effin movie. And don’t tell me I should have seen it in a regular theater. Fuck you. You and I both know that IMAX is 1000x better than standard theaters. I’m not going to let that happen again. Especially with a 3D movie.
Also, some of you are probably like “Hey four eyes! The dadgum trailer looks like shit! Why by tickets now?” To that I reply with “One, don’t call me four eyes you fuck face! And two, critics who saw the extended 16 minute preview last week all agree that the movie is utterly mind blowing.”
Listen, I like movies. I like to get excited about movies, especially this one. I’ve been following the progress of Avatar for about 3 years now. Don’t judge me. But if you like, leave me a comment below where you judge me. Did I buy them too soon? Or am I the coolest cat around?
