    Raw Diet: Day 7

    Weight: 164.5lbs (from 170)

Days without coffee and alcohol: 8

Symptoms: Bloodshot left eye. I cried for tacos.

Day 7 was an easy day. I didn’t eat a whole lot today but Nicki did go to the store and blow a whole bunch of money of food. I literally will be eating her hard work this week.

    BREAKFAST:

We juiced some oranges and veggies like usual. But today we had some fresh guavas to snack on. Good, not Hawaii good, but good.

    LUNCH:

I’m pretty sure I didn’t have an actual meal for lunch. It was just some basic grazing on nuts and fruits.

    DINNER:

Nicki found a new place that has a great raw food section in town so she went wild. We had a squash medley salad that came with a pesto like dressing. Really good. And for the first time we made smoothies and not juice. She found this raw milk that we blended with some bananas, strawberries and ice to make refreshing and filling beverage. I know what you’re thinking. Kassem, what about guacamole? Don’t worry kids, Nicki made a fresh batch today that we tried with raw corn crisps. Another $8 bag that will last us one day. I need to learn how to make this stuff before I take a job as a Walmart greeter to pay for this diet.

Easy day. I do have to admit as I’m writing this trying to get it up before midnight, I am starving. I may go toss a few peanuts in my mouth before bed. I hate going to bed hungry. Or horny. But that’s for a separate blog.

    See you tomorrow baby birds.

You should try SunPower Natural Cafe in Studio City on Cahuenga. They have an amazing raw pesto pizza that’s served with a side of your choice (my favorite is their hummus). But if you’re not feeling the pizza, they have an entire menu full of great stuff!

it’s about being heathy, that’s a lot of money for chips

You can make your own raw milk with cashews or almonds. Soak 1/2 cup nuts overnight. In the morning, drain, rinse, and blend in a high powered blender (VitaMix is excellent) with 3 cups water. The cashews are soft and will melt into nothing. The almonds will stay with larger particles which are delicious, but if you want a smooth milk, strain it through cheese cloth.
As for the cost, on the raw diet you will have little to no medical expenses. And throw in your alcohol budget and this diet becomes cheap.
      Good luck, good health.

      Hey man,

Good to hear the progress on your diet. Just out of curiosity how tall are you? Also with this diet are you excersing to the extent of eating regular food or do you limit excersing due to the harshness of the diet?

I just threw up a bit in my mouth.

Chuka, it isn’t that it is necessarily a diet per se, but just a healthier lifestyle. Anyone can benefit from it. There are so many people who appear to be perfectly healthy individuals, but still shove grease, fats and excessive amounts of sugar in their systems, ensuring that they not as healthy as they appear.

On a different note, I say enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. The downfall of it, though, is that by this point you are well into detoxing and your body is getting used to what you’ve been putting into it. For this, Thanksgiving dinner may be a regret when it is all over with. When I first went raw about three years ago I would occasionally slip up and eat processed food again. Needless to say, my body didn’t approve.

I suggest bringing a salad or something. Then maybe bring in the outside food. That way you aren’t totally straying away from the raw food, but are still enjoying the other food. :)

You not going to believe this but I have lost all day searching for some articles about this. You’re a lifesaver, it was a essential read and really helped me out. this is my site by the way (if you are interested) – Homepage
